Kozhikode: Complaints have arisen regarding anti-socials who are trying to disrupt online classes in the state. Obscene and pornographic videos are posted on Google Meet after entering through the links available. Due to this, school teachers are currently suffering from severe mental stress. The cyber police have so far received several complaints in this regard.
The teacher of Naduvannoor Higher Secondary School in Kozhikode had to face obscene comments and videos posted in the WhatsApp group she created for class 9 students.
'We lose the trust given to our children. In a group where we are made the group admin, children and parents have to listen to the obscene talks of these anti-socials. I have suffered a lot of mental stress for over an hour. I also received a threatening message demanding to make one of the anti-socials the admin of the group or else they would use this number, said the teacher.
This is not an isolated incident. Google and Zoom Meet, which schools usually rely on for online classes, are getting misused by such criminals. They use technology to hide their identity while entering the online classes. The only hope of teachers now is that the government's app for online classes will be more secure.
