One more person confirmed with rat fever in Kozhikode


Kozhikode: One more person has been diagnosed with rat fever in Kozhikode, where highest number of rat fever cases were reported. A person residing within the limit of the corporation was confirmed with rat fever. With this, the number of confirmed cases of patients has reached 105.

14 cases including two cases each from Velliparamba, Poovattuparamba, Puthuppanam, one each from Vadakara, Chevarambalam, Nallalam, Marikunnu, Vengalam, Puthiyara, Mavoor and Peringalam were reported today. With this, the number of suspected cases became 223. No more deaths were reported.

7 deaths have been reported till yesterday confirmed with rat fever. Health minister KK Shylaja had called an emergency meeting in the collectorate regarding the situation. She has instructed people to be alert for 3 weeks.
