One-minute delay in reporting vacancy causes visually-challenged candidate to lose job

Kochi: The state commissioner for persons with disabilities registered a case citing a candidate allegedly missed a job due to one minute delay in reporting vacancy. The action has been taken based on the report of Mathrubhumi News over the miseries of Udayamperoor native PS Saiju, who is a visually challenged person.

The incident pertaining to the case happened in 2018. The case has been registered by including Public Service Commission and district PSC office as the first and second parties, respectively.

The complainant has accused the urban affairs department of a one-minute delay in reporting a vacancy, which resulted in losing his job.

The commissioner will also seek an explanation from the PSC. A probe will be initiated to find any lapses from the side of the urban affairs department.

SH Panchapakesan, Commissioner for persons with disabilities informed that further proceedings will be launched only after obtaining the reply from PSC.
