One arrested in Sandeepananda Giri ashram attack case

Thiruvananthapuram: The Crime Branch (CB) on Tuesday arrested Kundamankadavu native Krishnakumar in connection with Sandeepananda Giri ashram burning case.

The person along with four others in custody over the suicide of another Kundamankadavu Prakash. The CB took the person into custody based on the claims made by the deceased’s brother Prashanth.

CB earlier claimed that as per Prashanth’s revelations, deceased Prakash and Krishnakumar, among others torched two cars and a scooter parked outside the Ashram and placed a wreath at the Ashram. They were RSS activists, he reportedly claimed. However, Prashanth’ changed the statement before the court, thus putting Crime Branch in the soup.

Meanwhile, Krishnakumar’s arrest was recorded as his custody period over Prakash’s suicide got expired.

CB in the case pertaining to Prakash’s suicide said that the person ended his life over the agony from the physical assault of the accused, over his alleged extramarital affair.
