One among rescuers in Wayanad landslide tests Covid +ve; 150 including sub-collector in quarantine
Meppadi: One among the persons who were engaged in rescue operations in Mundakkai of Wayanad where a landslide had occurred on Friday morning, tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday. Following this, around 150 persons including sub-collector were sent in quarantine.
A person involved in the rescue operations in Meppadi tested positive for the virus infection in the antigen test. His brother is a lorry driver. It is assumed that he might have contracted the virus from this contact.
Wayanad sub-collector Vikalp Bharadwaj, Deputy Collector (disaster management) Ajeesh, fire force, police, revenue personnel and volunteers were quarantined.
