Poster, Oommen Chandy

Kottayam: A fresh controversy erupted in the Kottayam unit of the Congress after the party came up with a poster without featuring former chief minister and senior party leader MLA Oommen Chandy.

The DCC organised the event on December 27 to mark their protest against the demarcation of buffer zones.

Meanwhile, it is alleged that Chandy’s picture was consciously avoided from the poster as the party leadership is disappointed with the A group.

A group led by Chandy reportedly faced the wrath of the leadership for inviting MP Shashi Tharoor to an event in Kottayam.

Meanwhile, Oommen Chandy supporters have expressed their displeasure over the issue to the DCC leadership.

Former opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala will inaugurate the programme at 10 am on Tuesday. The event will be presided over by DCC president Nattakom Suresh. Along with these two leaders, the poster also featured Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan and KC Joseph.

However, the DCC said that there was no reason for controversy as only pictures of those leaders who were taking part in the programme were included in the poster.
