Thiruvananthapuram: An ombudsman has ordered demolition of the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) office building located near Enchakkal in Thiruvananthapuram.
The order directed to demolish the building within three months. However, even after a month of receiving the order, the corporation has not taken any action.
The ombudsman’s order came on the basis of a complaint lodged by INTUC leader Adumankadu Vijayan. Prior to the order, the ombudsman had asked the corporation secretary to submit a report in this regard.
The building is located in the landing area of Thiruvananthapuram international airport. As per law, no building above two floors should be constructed in the area.
The office building was inaugurated on May 3, 2022 in the presence of veteran Congress leader AK Antony.
