Thenhippalam (Malappuram): Omanakuttan’s masters are wearing uniforms and are busy at work always. When he was wandering without even food and water during lockdown, the masters gave him food and now he follows them everywhere all the time.

Omanakuttan is a dog who lives on the compound of Thenhipalam police station. The police officers helped him by offering food during the COVID lockdown. As the station mess was functioning every day, Omanakuttan got food aplenty.

The dog befriended the police officers. He always followed the officers on the university campus, bus stop premises and other places which is at walkable distance. When the officers travel on two wheelers, he runs with them.

Omanakuttan was with the officers when they were on duty at the protest on Calicut University campus the other day. He barks at outsiders who make a fuss at the police station.

The dog sustained injuries from fighting with other stray dogs on the campus. The officers are going to take him to a veterinary doctor for treatment.
