Olympian Anju complains against Kerala Sports Minister
Thiruvananthapuram: Olympian Anju Bobby George has approached the Chief Minister with a complaint against Sports Minister E P Jayarajan for “behaving rudely” with her during a meeting here.
Anju, who is the President of Kerala State Sports Council, was here to discuss issues relating to transfer of some of the trainers of the Council. Reports suggest that the Minister “behaved rudely” with the Olympian, besides “threatening” her.
Council Vice President T.K. Ebrahim Kutty had also accompanied Anju.
The Minister, in a file, had asked the Council to revoke all the transfer orders of Council’s trainers.
When Anju pointed out the practical difficulty in executing the order, an agitated Jayarajan accused the Council members of being “corrupt”. He had reportedly told Ajnu that those around her are “defaming” her.
Jayarajan had also expressed dissatisfaction over Council President availing reimbursement for airfares for travel from Bengaluru.
However, submitting her complaint to the Chief Minister, Anju said that the travel facility for Council President was sanctioned by the previous LDF government. “Sports persons do not have politics and we stand for the poor,” she said.
