The youths who climbed on top of the waterfall
Idukki: The tourists who climbed on top of the Valara waterfall on the Kochi-Dhanushkodi highway were rescued by officials. The incident happened around 6:30 pm on Sunday. The waterfall has a height of about 800 feet.
The five youths from Kannur were sitting on rocks near the waterfall when a tourist, who was a police officer, noticed them. He informed traders and residents of the area. Forest guards and highway police were also informed.
Forest guards reached the spot and removed them from the area. After a warning, they were released.
