Officials intensify raids to seize 500 kg of ganja smuggled into Kochi

Kochi: The Police and Excise department has intensified search to find 500 kilograms of ganja that reportedly arrived from Andhra Pradesh to Kochi.

Based on confidential information, the special squad of the excise commissioner launched raids in various parts of the city. The ganja is said to have reached Kochi via a tanker lorry.

A few days back, police seized 175 kilograms of ganja from a car parked near the Mathura company in Palluruthy. The officials are yet to find the accused.

Recently, the police are interrogating those who were caught smuggling 15 kilograms of ganja in Ambalamugal.
