Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister KK Shailaja said that there will be spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in the coming days. The possibility of the disease is more in people who have returned from COVID- 19 affected states. The virus is found to be more potent in them.

Minister also said that the testing and the style of treatment in the state is effective, while also adding that the ICMR’s recommendation about discharging patients if they do not exhibit symptoms for three straight days will not be implemented in Kerala. This recommendation was put forward as there are not enough hospital facilities in other states.

Minister also added that this phase is going to be more difficult than the earlier two phases in the state.

More number of people are returning to the state at a time when the number of COVID patients are increasing worldwide and in other Indian states. KK Shailaja also pointed out that as per estimates the number of cases in India will double in 13 days.
