Number of bus passengers from Karnataka to Kerala drops due to Covid situation
Bengaluru: Though the Karnataka government has urged the public to avoid travelling from and to Kerala due to the rising toll of Covid-19 cases, the inter-state bus services will not be affected with this. The Karnataka RTC operated 15 bus services to Kerala on Wednesday and same number of services will be available on Thursday too.
KSRTC operates 8 buses to Karnataka daily. Normally, a huge number of passengers board the buses on weekends but this will drop to half during other days. Anyway, the services will not be cancelled. Currently, those who come from Kerala should carry only an RT-PCR negative certificate. The government order directing the travellers from Kerala to spend 7 days in quarantine should be strictly followed by the nursing students.
There is an attempt to cut down the ticket rate of Ambari Dream Class bus of Karnataka RTC servicing from Karnataka to Ernakulam by 10 per cent. This multi-axil sleeper bus has numerous travellers and they are planning to cut the price from Rs 1330 to Rs 1200.
