NSS should cooperate with women wall: Kodiyeri
Thrissur: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan urged NSS to cooperate with women wall demonstration. He said that NSS should follow the legacy of Mannath Padmanabhan, who upheld renaissance values.
Stating that the opposition must not stay away from women wall, Kodiyeri opined that Ramesh Chennithala should call for women to participate in the demonstration which will be held on January 1. He said that women wall was an effort to ensure gender equality.
“Women wall is the government’s programme, not CPM’s. People from all communities should take part in it. Instead of staying away from the women wall, the NSS should have led the demonstration,” he said.
The government had summoned a meeting of community outfits to discuss the Sabarimala issue. NSS boycotted the meeting which was held on Saturday.
The women wall demonstration will be held from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram.
