Kottayam: The Nair Service Society (NSS) has appealed the government to implement forward caste reservation with retrospective effect from January 2021.

The press release issued by NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair pointed out that some conditions in the forward caste reservation denies equality.

“If qualified candidates are not available for posts reserved for economically backward people, such vacancies should be filled with candidates from the same community,” demanded NSS.

NSS has come forward citing drawbacks in the forward caste reservation after SNDP and Muslim League also criticised the order.

Earlier, SNDP and Muslim League alleged that the forward caste reservation will challenge the backward community reservation in the state.
