Kottayam: While the government is convincing international establishments to invest in the state, an expatriate has decided to give up his business in Kerala after his establishment faced repeated attacks from goons and the drug mafia. George Varghese, hailing from Kottayam, opened up about his wish to leave the country due to the recent events.
After spending many years abroad, George Varghese returned to Kerala and started a restaurant and Toddy Shop in Athirampuzha. However, he faced repeated attacks from Goons and the drug mafia prevailing in the area. He added that Police failed to take action against those responsible for the incident.
When the incident came out, the Kottayam district police chief sought a report from the DySP. Further, goons responsible for the incident were placed under preventive custody under Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 2007. Police also took three people into custody in connection with the incident. Following this, George Varghese expressed his gratitude to the police for taking action against the perpetrators.
