Sharjah: A cheque bounce case was registered against a Muslim League leader MC Mayin Haji and his son. Kannur native, who is also an NRI, filed the complaint against Mayin Haji alleging financial fraudulence of Rs 5 cr. A similar complaint was also registered against Muslim League leadership.
MC Mayin Haji, son Kunjali and son-in-law Mustafa purchased Life Care Medical Centre in Sharjah. The institute was bought for 25 lakh DH equivalent to Rs 5 cr from Dubai-based businessman who is a native of Kannur.
Cheques signed by Mayin Haji’s son was given to the Kannur native as part of the deal but it bounced. Amidst this, Mayin Haji’s son Kunjali left Dubai. Hence, the Kannur native contacted Mayin Haji many times demanding money.
As Mayin Haji was reluctant to respond in a responsible way, the businessman informed the matter to Panakkad Thangal’s family.
Mayin Haji promised Panakkad Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal that he will settle the amount soon. But he did not keep his word. Following this, the businessman decided to take legal action.
A complaint was registered against Mayin Haji and son at Sharjah police station.
At the same time, Mayin Haji’s son, who is booked for the cheque bounce case, will be unable to enter Dubai.
The Kannur native has informed the fraudulence to the Muslim League leadership also.
Meanwhile, Muslim League had faced criticism after MC Kamaruddin was arrested over a financial fraud case. Now, the case against Mayin Haji has triggered another controversy against the Muslim League.
