Notorious thief 'Kallan Kumar' arrested in TVM, police seize foreign currency, gold

Thiruvananthapuram: The police have apprehended a notorious thief responsible for burgling homes in Valiyasala and Pattom. The thief managed to steal 45.5 sovereigns of gold and Rs 2.5 lakh in cash.

The arrested person is Thampanoor Rajaji Nagar native Anil Kumar (36) alias 'Kallan Kumar'. He was arrested from a hideout in Vilappilsala on Wednesday.

Police informed that more than 20 cases have been registered against him in various stations in the district.

He stole 45.5 sovereign gold and Rs 1.80 lakh from the house of a couple retired from the Health Department and Hong Kong Dollars worth Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 from the residence of Valiyasala native Beena.

Police examined CCTV footage from the houses to nab the culprit.
