Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Friday defended his party's MLA MM Mani in the controversy over his comment against opposition MLA KK Rema.

There is nothing wrong with what Mani said. He was clarifying that CPM has nothing to do with the murder of TP Chandrasekharan, said Kodiyeri Balakrishnan during a press meet here.

Whatever is said in the Assembly shall end there. The Speaker has clarified that there is nothing unparliamentary in what Mani said, he added.

Kodiyeri also slammed union ministers' tour in the state. The MEA S Jaishankar got involved in the matter that does not fall under his purview. In the previous elections also the ministers camped in the state but miserably failed to make any result, he mocked.

Mani on Thursday in the Assembly said that it was Rema’s fate that she is a widow and CPM is not responsible for it.
