Nothing will happen to Congress no matter who quits: VD Satheesan
Kochi: Opposition leader V D Satheesan stated that nothing will happen to Congress no matter who quits the party. "We have not taken the stand that unsatisfied party workers can quit. Even if I quit the party, nothing will happen but a better person would fill the void. Switching parties is not a big deal. Many have quit Congress and joined CPM and vice versa. We will welcome those who leave CPM and come to us too," he stated.
“Which party would accept those who call party leaders as ‘box carriers’? CPM has taken disciplinary action against many party workers for trying to ditch their candidate for money. They did the right thing to ensure that the party is safely going ahead. But we have to make sure that our party also goes in the right direction, Satheesan said.
CPM state secretary Vijayaraghavan is not taking a firm stand on Erattupetta issue. UDF has 13 seats, LDF has 10 seats and SDPI has 5 seats. LDF moved no-confidence motion cooperating with SDPI and now claims that they did not join hands with them. CPM’s stand against religious extremism is fake, Satheesan added.
