Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary MV Govindan here on Sunday said that the party is not against religion.

Speaking at the CPM's house visit programme, Govindan said that there would be no anti-religious or anti-faith remarks in the curriculum.

“The government does not have any programme that excludes people. A section within the Muslim population has campaigned their claims that there are remarks against them in the curriculum reforms. However, there is nothing anti-religious or anti-god in the project,” said Govindan.

Meanwhile, the CPM's house visit programme, ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, started on Sunday. Leaders, including politburo members and ministers, will pay visits.

The party’s campaign event is scheduled to end on January 21.
