Malappuram: Ahead of the beginning of the Muslim League’s platinum jubilee celebrations, PK Kunhalikutty said that he is not ready to take up the role of state general secretary of Muslim League. “I have enough responsibility now and I am not going to take up any new responsibility. No such plans have surfaced within the party as well,” he told Mathrubhumi News.
“The very question of whether I will become the state general secretary is itself insignificant. The party will have an energetic secretary. There are no disputes within the Muslim League in Kerala. All the14 district committees were set up unanimously,” Kunhalikutty said.
“The propaganda that there are two factions within the League has been created by the media and social media. We have only one leader and our current leader is Panakkad Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal. We are moving ahead unitedly,” he added.
Further, Kunhalikutty asserted that Muslim League joining the Left Front is a mere rumour and is being deliberately created by some. What is being said at the all-India level is being altered and stories are fabricated by the media.”
“Muslim League is an integral part of the UDF. The political scenario, which enabled the LDF to rise to power during the Covid period, does not exist now. Hence, we believe that a majority of the people will stand by the UDF. There is no need to worry about the future of the League,” he added.
