Not ready to lock horns with state government, says Governor
Delhi: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan said that he is committed to advising the state government and is not ready to lock horns with them.
It is not right to use public funds for political campaigns, he said criticising the state government publishing an advertisement in newspapers against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
“The money used for it was that of the public. All Keralites are Indians,” he added.
Everyone has the right to express their opinions. There is nothing wrong in it. But using public’s money to propagate against an Act passed by the parliament is wrong. Political parties can campaign against the Act, it is not wrong, he further said.
My opinion is that public fund should be utilised properly. It should be used for people’s welfare, he stated.
