Thiruvananthapuram: State leaders of Students Federation of India (SFI) said the organisation’s unit at University college was dismissed as it was a complete failure.
“However, what the Directorate of Education is doing in University college at the moment is an attack on SFI as the directorate had not held any sittings or taken action in colleges where SFI units does not function, said SFI state secretary Sachin Dev at a press conference here.
“We are not justifying the violence that occurred at University college. Let police investigate that matter. But the Directorate of Education has not held any sittings or taken any action in colleges where SFI does not function. This is an attack on SFI,” he said.
Some are searching for students of University college. They are trying to make the incident a news against SFI. It was SFI activists who pointed out the violence at University college, said it was wrong and staged protests against it. Meanwhile, other political activists took advantage of the situation, SFI leaders said.
Blaming the entire organisation based on the actions of just two or three SFI activists cannot be agreed. We had taken corrective action over the incident when a female student of University college tried to commit suicide, SFI leaders said.
However, regarding the stabbing incident, the SFI unit was dismissed after realising that corrective action was not possible. Nazeem was asked to take corrective action following the incident where he attacked a policeman, SFI leaders claimed.
