Kochi: Opposition leader VD Satheesan said that Congress didn't hold talks with Twenty20 or AAP over Thrikkakara bypoll. He revealed this a day after AAP and Twenty20 backed out from the contest.
Welcoming the decision of the parties, he pointed out that their move will prevent dividing anti-government votes.Satheesan also declared that UDF will support the Kitex group's right to continue their business.
"UDF has already taken a stance to prevent shifting of business from Kerala to other states. Apart from this, UDF didn't hold any talks with Twenty20," he asserted. Taking a dig at LDF, he condemned rumours on UDF's alliance with Twenty20 and AAP.
"CPM tried to shut down Kitex by using Kunnathunadu MLA Sreenijan. UDF opposed the move. We will not support any attempt to destroy an industry unnecessarily," declared Satheesan.
"Twenty20 fielded a candidate when PT Thomas contested the assembly polls. PT Thomas believed that Twenty20 tried to defeat him. Because of this, UDF opposed that party," he added.
