Kerala industries minister P Rajeev on Wednesday took to Facebook and detailed on prospective avenues for Kerala emerging from the foreign visit of a team led by chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
According to the minister, Norway has offered to share new technology for fishing.
Some of the major avenues:
1) Tunnel-based culturing of fish in sea using innovative technology
2) AI-based deep water fishing
A working plan for the same was readied after deliberations. As a first step, experts from Norway will conduct a workshop in Kerala, he noted.
Minister, in his post, revealed that Norway-based companies shared their interest in investments in areas like hydrogen fuel, food processing, fisheries, shipping and waste processing.
Rajeev noted that Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI) has shown interest in aiding the state in matters including flood mapping. NGI will also decide on association with universities and research institutes after the delegates visit the state.
He has detailed the foreign visit in an itinerary form and various developments from it. This comes at a time when the Opposition has been targeting the ruling dispensation over transparency of foreign visits.
