Nobody looted a single paisa from Dhanraj fund: CPM

Kannur: CPM Kannur district secretary MV Jayarajan has given an explanation over the Payyannur fund row here on Monday. He declared that nobody has misused even a penny from the fund which was raised in the name of martyr Dhanraj.

“ The party had already settled the loan in the name of Dhanraj at Payannur rural bank. CPM will also clear his debt in Payyannur Co-operative Bank,” said Jayrajan in a press statement.

The CPM leader has issued the press statement as responding to KPCC chief K Sudhakaran’s criticism over the fund row.

“Nobody has looted even a single paisa from Dhanraj fund. This fund was utilised for distributing aid to Dhanraj’s family, constructing a house for them and meeting expenses related to the case. When we were engaged in the fund collection, we declared its purpose,” he added.

Meanwhile, CPM’s efforts to settle the row over the misappropriation of funds failed. Following this, former CPM Payannur area secretary V Kunhikrishnan announced his retirement from political life.
