Nobody asked CM to implement CAA in state, says V Muraleedharan
Kozhikode: Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said that nobody has asked Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to implement Citizenship Amendment Act in Kerala. The CM does not have any role in implementing the act in the state and his statements do not carry much significance, Muraleedharan said.
The Minister also added that BJP has repeatedly made it clear that no Muslim will be sent out of the country with the implementation of CAA. Despite this, some people are trying to hold protests. This is to bring disgrace to the country. No decision has been taken to implement NRC in the country. It is only applicable to Assam. The minister also urged everyone to understand the facts of the matter.
Responding to the state government’s decision to stall the work on population census, V Muraleedharan said that he is okay with it if the CM feels that the people of the state do not require any allowances from the centre. The people will have to take a decision on the matter, he added.
