We come across a lot of heart wrenching sights in our daily lives. Destitutes sleeping on roads, women carrying their children on shoulders and selling balloons and toys at traffic signals, people working in extreme conditions etc.

Athira Aneesh, a school student from Malappuram, recently won hearts through her noble act. Athiram who had arrived at Pothakallu bus stand along with her father, spotted a tired woman there. She was struggling to finish a song with a mic in her hands. The young girl also noticed the woman’s blind husband and toddler beside her. Releasing the struggle the poor woman was going through to make her ends meet, Athira ran towards her, borrowed the mic, and sang a soulful lullaby, leaving the audience stunned.

The girl’s inspiring act was shot on mobile phones by several onlookers and shared widely on social media platforms. Soon the video became viral with several netizens commenting that it was the ‘real Kerala Story’. Athira’s gesture won her accolades from all sections of the society. She even received a call from minister Veena George who appreciated the girl for her kindness. The minister termed the incident as an exemplary example for ‘humanity and secularism’ prevailing in the state.
