No women will be given protection to enter Sabarimala: AK Balan


The minister added that the chilli spray attack on Bind Ammini cannot be justified at all as it is a violation of human rights.

Thiruvananthapuram: Minister A. K. Balan stated that the government will not provide protection to any woman, including Trupti Desai, to enter Sabarimala. He also told the media that nobody will enter Sabarimala with government support and asked everyone to cooperate in order to maintain peace in Sabarimala.

The minister added that the chilli spray attack on Bind Ammini cannot be justified as it is violation of human rights. Those who engage in such attacks should be brought before the law. The pilgrims need not be hesitant to visit the Sabarimala temple and the pilgrimage is progressing peacefully, he stated.

Women rights activist Trupti Desai and team arrived at Nedumbassery airport on Tuesday morning. Bindu Ammini also joined the team. Though they set out to Sabarimala, later they arrived at Kochi City Police Commissioner’s office demanding protection. The chilli spray attack on Bindu Ammini and the following clashes occurred from here.
