No quarantine facility; 16 expats left in a lurch in Kannur

The expats from Kannur and Kasaragod districts landed at the Cochin International Airport around 9 pm on Wednesday night.

Kannur: As many as 16 expats who returned to Kerala from Kuwait were stranded at Kalikkadavu here in the district for several hours after officials failed to arrange quarantine facilities for them.

The expats from Kannur and Kasaragod districts landed at the Cochin International Airport around 9 pm on Wednesday night. They were taken to their native district in a KSRTC bus at 12 pm on Thursday.

However, they got stranded at Kalikkadavu on the border between Kannur and Kasaragod districts as institutional quarantine facilities were not arranged for them.

There were reports on district Collector issuing an order to quarantine 14 of the expats in a nearby panchayat.
