Thiruvananthapuram: Heera flat association at Pattom here released a bizarre circular for the residents in the flat. The association has directed the unmarried residents to vacate the flats within two months. It also banned the male visitors in the flats of unmarried women and female visitors in the flats of unmarried men.
The controversial circular was published by raising issues related to moral policing. The circular which noted that unmarried persons should not invite opposite sex to their flats except those with blood relation, have been displayed on the notice board of the flat. The circular was shared via WhatsApp groups too.
The unmarried persons are allowed to meet their friends of the opposite sex only from the ground floor. The association claimed that this flat complex is only for those who are residing with families.
The residents of the flat, Gopika and Durga alleged that the association had questioned and misbehaved when their male friends visited their flat. Even girls are only allowed to enter the flat after receiving permission from the president and secretary, they said. Gopika and Durga asserted that they would lodge a complaint at the police station against the moral policing of the association.
