Palakkad: The Kerala State Electricity Board will implement a new system to completely avoid power failure. With this, power supply will be assured through two sources in rural and urban areas. If power supply from the feeder gets interrupted, another feeder will ensure power supply.
The new facility will be implemented under ‘Dhyuthi 2021’ project of Urja Kerala Mission. A fund of Rs 4035.57 crore will be allotted for 7626 works in power supply sectors. The project will be completed within 2021.
The project includes construction of new High Tension lines, installation transformer in load centres and replace damaged electricity lines.
However, KSEB will arrange new facility to decrease loss in power transmission. Old power supply lines which are dangerous and often create traffic issues will be replaced.
KSEB started to install underground cables in places where power supply gets interrupted frequently. The officials also informed that remote control switch boxes will be installed on transformers to operate street lights.
