No more holiday on Saturdays; Govt offices reverting to old system
Thiruvananthapuram: Government offices in the state are returning to the old system and will remain functional on Saturdays too. The move comes in the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic.
The working style of government offices were changed as COVID-19 intensified in Kerala. Initially, the decision was to maintain 50 percent attendance. As the pandemic tightened its grip on the state, working days were reduced to 5 per week and Saturday was declared a holiday.
This decision has been changed now. From January 16, all Saturdays except second Saturdays will be a working day for government offices in the state.
