No lockdown in Kerala; 1 cr doses of Covid vaccine will be purchased, decides Cabinet
Thiruvananthapuram: The cabinet meeting held on Wednesday has decided not to implement lockdown in Kerala.
The Union Ministry of Health had directed to consider imposing lockdown in the districts where test positivity rate was higher than 15 percent. The cabinet took the decision shortly after this.
The all-party meet had decided earlier not to impose lockdown. There is no situation to change this decision, the cabinet evaluated.
The cabinet also took a major decision regarding vaccination of those aged above 18 years. For the vaccination drive, 1 crore doses of Covid vaccines including 70 lakh doses of Covishield and 30 lakh doses of Covaxin will be purchased.
