No lapses in opening of dams, says M M Mani
Thodupuzha: Minister for Electricity M. M. Mani said that there were no lapses on the part of the government and Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) in the opening of dams including the one in Idukki. He was addressing the media in Thodupuzha.
The dams in the state were opened with all necessary precautions. When the rain intensified, the dams of electricity department as well as those built for irrigation were opened. The decisions were finalised after discussing with all concerned departments, the minister said.
The major challenge before KSEB is to restore the power connections in about 25 lakh households on a war footing. Those who blame the government’s actions during the disaster are saddened to see everything back to normal. The minister added that he is not interest in making controversial statements.
