Thrissur: Thiruvananthapuram gold smuggling case accused, Swapna Suresh and KT Ramees, were discharged from the Thrissur Government Medical College Hospital on Tuesday.
The accused were discharged as neither of them had any medical condition that required hospital stay.
Although Swapna Suresh's angiogram test was decided to be taken on Tuesday after she complained of chest pain, it was canceled after she had a change of mind and did not want to undergo the test. Swapna was discharged after she said that she was feeling better.
The cause for Ramees’ stomach pain could not be identified even after X-rays and scans. Nothing was found even in the endoscopy test. Both were taken back to Viyyur jail.
Meanwhile, NIA is looking into the circumstances under which Swapna Suresh was admitted to the hospital and about the phone calls she made.
Swapna was taken to the hospital on September 7 after she complained of chest pain. It is suspected that she contacted someone the next day using the phone of one of the health workers.
NIA informed the court that they found 2,000 GB of information from her laptop and phones. It was found that Swapna Suresh stored her conversations with important people on Google drive. NIA hopes to get more clarity in this regard when they interrogate her again.
It is reported that Swapna used the phone claiming that she wanted to talk to her family. However, a probe carried out by the medical college authorities found that nobody helped Swapna make the phone call.
