Kochi: A man attempted to jump off from the High Court complex after the court considered a petition in connection with his divorce case. The security officials stopped Chittoor native Vinu Antony, who attempted to kill himself after hearing an unfavourable verdict.

The dramatic scenes were unveiled at the High Court on Wednesday morning. The court considered Vinu’s petition which was related to giving alimony to his divorced wife. He had secured divorce earlier from a family court. However, the latest petition was submitted to the High Court requesting to scrap the order for giving alimony to the divorced wife. He reportedly attempted to jump off the court building as the verdict was not in favour of him.

Vinu was saved following the timely intervention of the security officer, who spotted him on the top floor. Vinu is currently under police custody.
