No evidence for community transmission in Pothencode, Govt lifts shutdown orders
Thiruvananthapuram: State government has revoked the complete shutdown order placed on Pothencode region after a coronavirus patient passed away. This decision was takenbased on the inference that social transmission has not taken place in the region.
As per the primary test results, none of the family members of the victim, Abdul Azeez , have been infected with the disease. And so it is inferred that community transmission has not taken place in the region.
The restriction placed in Pothencode meant that shops selling essential items could be opened only for two hours in a day and that except for health workers and volunteers, no one else were permitted to step out of their homes.
