No damage to anganwadi, under construction apartment complex
Kochi: The demolition of Golden Kayaloram through implosion was a perfect application of demolition technology and expertise.
When the 17-storeyed building came crumbling down to earth at 2.30 pm on Sunday, an anganwadi and another flat under construction very close to the demolished building sustained no damage what so ever.
The only damage was sustained by the compound wall of the anganwadi. Few of the glass window panes on the building were also broken.
Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) said that they kept their promise of ensuring zero damage to the anganwadi building.
More importantly, none of the debris landed in the lake. Dust settled on the surface was the only pollutant that entered the water.
