Idukki: Minister for Electricity M M Mani said that neither KSEB nor the government had entered into any contract with Adani Group companies. The board purchases only the power provided by the non-conventional energy firm of the central government. No other contract was signed. Chennithala is only spreading lies, the minister added.

M M Mani was reacting to the allegations raised by Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala that the government signed a contract with Adani Group to purchase electricity for higher price.

The details of all contracts signed by the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) is available on the website of the board. The opposition leader is only cooking up stories without knowing the truth, the minister said.

We get electricity only from the energy corporation. Illegal contracts were made during the tenure of Oommen Chandy. The contract made for 10 years is giving only loss. We did not cancel the contract because it may invite legal issues and we will have to give them compensation, M M Mani said.

Chennithala seems to have lost his senses. He said Kerala police should charge case when gold was seized. Customs should register the case as the airport is owned by the central government. He then said that the flood was manmade. This is not something people with common sense would say, the minister added.
