No agenda over women entry in Sabarimala; Govt in HC
Kochi: The government on Tuesday submitted an affidavit in the High Court in connection with the entry of two women in the Sabarimala temple. The affidavit clarified that both Bindu and Kanakadurga entered Sabarimala as per the Supreme Court verdict.
The government, in the affidavit stated that it did not have any agenda on the women entry in Sabarimala. The government also stated that a political party was spreading rumors that the government has an agenda in the matter.
Stating that it was not possible to inspect the beliefs of the pilgrims who come to Sabarimala, the government said that inspecting the beliefs of women would be unconstitutional and biased.
Earlier, the HC had sought explanation from the government regarding the entry of Bindu and Kanakadurga in the Sabarimala temple. The affidavit submitted by the government was in reply to the questions and criticisms raised by the HC.
