No 18 hotel POCSO case: Anjali Reema Dev key instigator, charge sheet to be submitted in a week

Kochi: The charge sheet in the Number 18 hotel POCSO case in Fort Kochi will be submitted within two weeks. Police have found that Anjali Reema Dev is the key instigator in the case. The police findings reveal that Anjali trapped the girl to bolt from paying back a debt of Rs 13 lakh.

The investigation involving hotel owner Roy Vayalatt has been completed. The case was charged with an attempt of sexual assault on a minor who was taken to the hotel by Kozhikode native Anjali Reema Dev. The case was filed based on the complaint filed by Wayanad native woman and her daughter.

The probe team said that the charge sheet will be filed within 12 days. Apart from the POCSO case, other offences including human trafficking and conspiracy have also been charged. Roy Vayalatt and Saiju Thankachan surrendered before the police after being denied anticipatory bail by the High Court. Anjali was granted bail by the court earlier.

The events leading to the case took place in October 2021. Police said that the complainants were threatened by saying that the visuals of the assault will be leaked if they give out any information about the incident.
