Kochi: Anjali Reema Dev appeared at the office of Kochi City police commissioner for interrogation concerning a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Though she was asked to arrive in the office for questioning in the last few days, she did not turn up. By referring to this, the investigation team were planning to move a plea in High Court to rebuke the anticipatory bail of Anjali. However, Anjali arrived for interrogation on Wednesday.

Anjali alleged that she was trapped in the POCSO case by a six-member team, including the wife of an MLA. Anjali claimed that the case has been cooked up to avenge for pointing out the dealings of black money in the institution in which the MLA’s wife possesses a stake.

The police had registered a POCSO case against No 18 Hotel owner Roy Vayalat, Saiju Thankachan and Anjali Reema Dev based on a sexual assault complaint filed by a woman from Wayanad and her minor daughter. Police found that Anjali had brought the minor girl to the No 18 hotel on the day of the incident.

Police informed that they have collected the evidence of bringing girls to the hotel and conducting night parties. Hence, the investigation team expects to question the suspects more. The other accused in the case, Roy Vayalat and Saiju Thankachan had managed to obtain bails on Monday.
