Kozhikode: The Kozhikode administration on Saturday issued a clarification on an order pertaining to the closure of educational institutions in the wake of the Nipah outbreak. The administration in a communique informed that a certain section of media reported the wordings in the order (dated: 16/09/2023) 'the schools will remain closed until further orders' as 'the schools will remain closed indefinitely'. This has created unwanted panic among the public, the communique noted.

The administration noted that the order should be reported as "all educational institutions, including tuition centres, coaching centres, madrasas, anganwadis, and coaching centres, will remain shut from September 18 to 23". However, classes can be conducted in online mode, the administration noted.
