Kozhikode: A survey conducted by officials from the Kerala Health Department in the containment zones in Kozhikode district found 51 people with fever symptoms.

The survey was held in 5,161 households in 50 wards falling under containment zones. Kozhikode's DMO, Dr Raja Ram, stated that those identified with fever are not linked to Nipah patients.

Meanwhile, the number of people on the contact list has increased to 950, with 213 of them considered high-risk. The contact list also contains 287 health workers.

Out of the 30 individuals from whom samples were collected today, only two showed symptoms. Meanwhile, health department is awaiting the results of 41 samples.

A team led by Dr Balasubramaniam from Chennai will conduct field inspections on Friday to collect samples of bats.

The DMO informed that those who reached IQRAA International Hospital between 2:30 a.m. and 4.15 a.m. should contact the control room.

Following a review meeting held on Thursday, the health minister suggested seeking the help of the police to trace those who were in contact with the patients.
