NIA to take over probe into Sreenivasan murder in Palakkad

Palakkad: The National Investigation Agency will take over the probe into the murder of RSS activist A Sreenivasan. According to reports, the union home ministry has directed NIA to take over the probe into the murder.

Earlier, NIA had alleged terror links in the murder in its report which recommended the PFI ban.

Sreenivasan was attacked and killed by a six-member gang at his motorbike shop in Melamuri on April 16. Police had arrested 21 people including SDPI-PFI activists for alleged involvement in the murder and conspiracy in the case. Police had hinted that around 30 people are involved in the murder.

Sreenivasan was murdered in retaliation to the murder of PFI leader Subair on April 15.
