NIA team to leave for Sri Lanka to probe Kerala IS links in blasts
New Delhi: National Investigation Agency (NIA) will leave for Sri Lanka to join the probe on the series of bomb blasts that occurred on the day of Easter. NIA team will reach here to probe the role of IS Kerala in the incident. The home ministry has given permission for the NIA to become part of the investigation.
A team under NIA director general YC Modi will leave for Sri Lanka. Earlier, the probe team in Sri Lanka had received evidence which proves that a separatist group in South India has connection with the blasts. Sri Lanka had transferred these evidences to India. NIA is planning to visit Lanka on this basis too.
It is learnt that the team has obtained more information from Riyas Aboobacker who was arrested by NIA team from Kerala last month. The NIA team will probe these issues also.
