NIA seeks CCTV visuals from secretariat
Thiruvananthapuram: In connection with the investigation into the diplomatic baggage gold smuggling case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has demanded access to CCTV visuals from the secretariat.
On Thursday, an NIA official visited house-keeping additional secretary P Honey at public administration department in the secretariat and sought the CCTV visuals for the inquiry.
However, NIA did not mention about the period of the visuals. It is reported that the NIA official asked to produce all the CCTV visuals of the dates as per their demand.
Responding to the NIA official, house-keeping additional secretary informed that access to CCTV visuals will be given to NIA after seeking permission from chief secretary.
Many CCTV cameras are installed in the secretariat as part of the security arrangements. Public Administration department is the custodian of the CCTV cameras. Hence, NIA approached the department seeking access to the visuals.
