Thiruvananthapuram: The district Collector, in the report submitted to the land Revenue Commissioner, has stated that there are irregularities in the land bought by Vasantha. Following the Neyyattinkara tragedy that led to the death of a couple, the woman had claimed that she had bought the land.
The District collector asked how can a land, registered with a title deed, be converted into the name of Vasantha. The report also stated that there should be more clarity regarding the transaction that took place 15 years ago including which government order was used as the basis of the deal.
It is also revealed that there have been discrepancies in the payment of the tax. In his report, Tahsildar had stated that the land belonged to Vasantha. The report stated that Vasantha bought this land and that the deceased Rajan had encroached into the land.
Both Rajanand his wife died accidentally while trying to resist the eviction drive led by police officers. Rajan’ s children and neighbors claimed that Vasantha illegally kept the land under her possession.
Vasantha bought the land from Sugandha. Tehsildar’s report also mentioned that Vasantha had the tax receipts with her. Even though businessman Bobby Chemmannur offered to buy the land from Vasantha and hand it over to Rajan’s children, they did not accept it.
The children claimed that it was not legally possible to buy or sell this land.
